Who Is Ronald S. Jacobson?
Ronald S. Jacobson, after being mobile for many years due to pursuit of higher education as well as intentional and wayward traveling, has been back in his hometown of Virginia Beach, Virginia, for the past 16 years. Dr. Ron Jacobson, Ph.D., resides there with his wife of 23 years, 17-year-old son, and 13-year-old Boston Terrier.
Ronald S. Jacobson, Ph.D., has numerous passions, many of which center on being joyful, helping others, or better understanding the nature of the soul and its purpose. He has played piano since he was a kid and still maintains his love of music.
Ron Jacobson, Ph.D., is in a “Weekend Warrior” Classic/Roots Rock cover band named Fretymology. All of the band’s proceeds are donated to various worthy causes.
Ronald S. Jacobson was highly involved with his Masonic lodge for five years, including a one-year stint in 2009 as its Worshipful Master (fancy term for Head Honcho). He was most drawn to Freemasonry due to its values and ideals, particularly those represented in its rituals and community-building causes.
Dr. Ron Jacobson, during his year as Worshipful Master, proudly created a commemorative lodge pin which read: “Where Were You First Prepared?” One of the first questions new Masons are asked is “Where Were You First Prepared to Be Made a Mason?” The answer is: IN MY HEART. Dr. Ronald S. Jacobson's goal in making that pin was to remind people to do their best to be compassionate and kindhearted.
Ronald S. Jacobson likes spending time with his family, watching sports games from his alma mater, and reading everything from Harry Potter to the great Sufi poets. He hopes to travel again as he once had in the past (fond memories of trekking across Tibet, India, China, and Western Europe).
As the old Irish Blessing says: “May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”
